  1. There was some discussion of vacuum tube trains in the early 1970s. There was even a science fiction story about the building of such a transcontinental train, except that it was actually a DOT Volpe plot to suck all of the Earth's atmosphere underground where the DOT was building a secret new civilization. Volpe maybe. Musk doesn't even make a good super-villain.

    1. I don't know about that. If Die Another Day had come out in 2018, you'd swear the villain was based on Musk.
