A kindness by omission

I was doing some preliminary research for a post on the business of movies prompted by this piece (which I found via Salmon) and I noticed something interesting about Mike Myers' IMDB page (hint: look at 2008). I can think of an innocent explanation for the anomaly, but I wouldn't completely rule out the possibility that some hacker out there is a Myers fan.

  1. It's in there under as second (collapsed) section called 'Himself'. (It's also in producer and director, too, but those wouldn't preempt the actor listing)

  2. Yeah, that's the innocent explanation I mentioned. Myers both played himself and the title character in the Love Guru but he only appears in the 'Himself' section. I still find it odd that the top billed role is the one that gets omitted, particularly given that in the one other case I can think of where an actor also appeared as himself outside of a variety show (Redd Foxx on Sanford and Son) the 'himself' appeared in the actor section.

Can anyone think of other examples?
